Quantum chromodynamics

The quantum chromodynamics is a gauge theory for the strong interaction.

Explanation

In composite particles, the quarks are held together by gluons. A gluon is an elementary particle, and is the carrier of the strong nuclear force.

History

In 1972, Harald Fritzsch and Murray Gell-Mann drew up this theory.
